The Swedish Language

There isn't that many people in the world that speaks Swedish. I like to speak Swedish, and the fact that we learn English at a pretty early age is an advantage. But sometimes I wonder how Swedish sounds to you people out there, that don't know it....

This is a movie with the famous Swedish chef from the Muppet show and Henrik Lundquist, a famous Swedish keeper for New Youk Rangers. Is this what it sounds like? :)

Painted eggs

HAPPY EASTER!!!

*Phew, she didn't pick me... Aouch!!! Oiiii, this will end badly... Back of!!!*

I was thinking about having some eggs for dinner tonight, it being Easter and all....

*Don't touch my friend. He'll get a head ache.*

... but some of the eggs didn't seem to agree with that decision.

Catch them if you can

Doesn't the spring seem quite far away? The sun is there to warm you during the day, but the nights are still really cold with around - 8 degrees Celsius.

To help the spring on it's way, I made an Art Journal full of it. :) One of the things I think smells like spring, is when you can hang you lawndry outside to dry.

I started the page by attaching a piece of a kitchen towel, that I have used to mop up mists and paints. Love those! And I love the texture they create on the page. :)

I cut out some clothes, from a piece of scraps (that I got from Stella :) and adhered them with decoupage varnish. When that is dry, I do some shadowing with Faber Castell Big artist Pitt Pens and some doodling with a black unibal pen.

As a final touch I take some of my background stamps to create some grungy texture on my page. :)

I also added some tiny heart stamps that fly across the page...

...they were blown all around by this cute girl, on the next page, who just wanted to spread some love. :)

Don't you just love the way that Prima Marketing does their packaging?

I think it is so great that they thought about this. That we can use their packaging to create with as well. :)

Euforia

Vackra Loreen var med och gjorde en mellanakt på melodifestivalens final för några veckor sedan. Det kanske inte var så konstigt att hon var där och sjöng Euforia (med tanke på att hon vann ALLT ifjol), men sättet som de gjort akten på var helt underbar. :)

Hon sjöng tillsammans med några elever från Adolf Fredriks musikklasser och några hörselskadade elever från Manillaskolan.

Såååå fint! Jag fick en liten tår i ögonvrån...

Shoppat lite :)

Förra veckan var jag till Täby centrum och shoppade lite. :)

Först gick jag till den klassiska pysselbutiken Panduro. Där finns det alltid massor av roliga saker att pyssla med. Denna gång behövde jag fylla på med svarta pennor, och det blev några olika tjocklekar som fick följa med hem.

Några andra söta saker fick också följa med. Ser ni det supersöta miniflaskorna längst ner i bilden? Tänkte ha sand i dem när jag scrappar ett strandfoto. :)

Nästa affär jag gick in i var Clas Ohlson. Ville köpa en "vattenpensel" efter tips från Pernilla på SweScrap. Jag har tyckt att de från Ranger är ganska dyra, och den här kostade bara hälften. Vet dock inte om den är lika bra, men jag gillar denna. :)

Sen shoppade jag med mig ett Baking Sheet. Det funkar utmärkt som underlägg när man kladdar med färg, som ett sådant där Craft Sheet (mkt dyrare...). Om jag vill måla med en mist, så sprayar jag lite på detta och kan sedan plocka upp färgen med en vanlig pensel - och sen är det bara att torka av. Man kan även jobba med de nya Distress paints på detta Baking sheet. Kladda ut några färger Distress Paint bredvid varandra, spraya lite med vatten och drag en tag genom färgerna. Tadaa! :)

Och det sista som jag köpte med mig från Clas Ohlson var möbeltassar. De små tänkte jag klistra fast på en Art Journal sida och skapa struktur, och de stora tänkte jag sätta under min Råskog istället för hjulen så att den går in under mitt skrivbord. Tack för tipset, MiaKL. :)

Den sista butiken som jag gick in i var Make Up Store. Kanske inte den vanligaste butiken att gå till för att köpa något pysselrelaterat, även om de har mkt färg i olika varianter.... :) Men jag hade fått ett tips från MiaKL om att deras tidning kunde vara intressant.

Och det var den definitivt!!! :)

Just enjoy yourself

Here is my second page with the Scraps of Darkness kit for January 2013.

   

The quote for this kit:

The mark of a successful man is one that has spent an entire day on the bank of a river

...inspired me to do this page. I wanted to have a feeling of summer at the beach, with soft sunny colors. My interpretation of the quote is: "Don't feel guilty, just enjoy yourself". Something I need to remember in my ordinary life. 

Since I'm an Educator over at Scraps of Darkness I made an tutorial while I was making this page. Enjoy! :)

Here is a close up of some of the nice papers that was included in the kit, with soft sunny colors! :) I did some white wash on them with Distress Ink Picket Fence, to get it even more soft and harmonic.

I used the background stamp that was included in the Creativity add on to get a more grungy look.  

As you might see in the video I mixed up the words, but there is never a misstake to big you can't fix it. :)

There were a lot of fun, unusual, stuff in the Creativity add on - like starfish and sea glass. And this is also something I have never used in my Art Journal before, something so heavy and sticking out on my page.

Dylusions + Snow = Fun

I found a fun idea over at the Ranger blog. And since there have been falling so much snow in Sweden today, I though that I could give you a little creative tip. :)

And this is something I would love to do myself, this looks sooo good. Love this idea! :)

And this also really remembers me of something I need to do this fall (hopefully, if there's an opportunity). I need to take the chance and apply to the Ranger University!!!!
